WHITNEY PHOENIX
PIANO MAESTRO
A master of piano artistry, Whitney Phoenix was a musical prodigy who began studying piano at the age of 8 and was playing solo concerts by the time he was 12. Trained at the Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio, Whitney served in the Marine Corps for 4 years as a Piano Instructor in the Armed Forces School of Music in Virginia Beach, then spent the subsequent years playing keyboards with local bands along the Southern California coast and in the Seattle-Tacoma area. Since relocating to Las Vegas in 1985, Whitney has directed a number of prominent lounge bands, and performed as a dup with his wife, vocalist Marianne LeMoine Phoenix, ultimately producing the music for her two-woman show, 50 Pounds from Stardom. He has appeared as a solo artist at Caesar's Palace, Imperial Palace and MGM Grand, and has been a featured solo pianist at the world-renowned Bellagio Resort since its opening in 1998. Whitney's recording credits include solo albums I Love a Piano (volumes 1 & 2), Expressions, Phantom by Request, Echoes of Eternity, and A Christmas Heart (featuring Marianne).
